an intensive with Doug Peck & Zach Zube
Space is limited. Ages 21+.
Applicants will be reviewed to curate a cohesive, intimate artist group.Exact location will be shared upon acceptance.
A three hour intensive bringing together functional voice training and embodied awareness to cultivate vocal freedom and greater expressive range.
This is an opportunity to set aside the constant demand to perform and reconnect the voice to the coordination of the whole body. Working from that foundation can strengthen confidence, expand expressive range, and support greater consistency in performance. You will engage in structured group voice exercises, accessible movement explorations, and guided application into your own repertoire. Time will also be dedicated to individualized feedback within the group setting.
Doug Peck (he/they) and Zach Zube (he/they) bring complementary professional experience in contemporary vocal performance and functional voice training. Doug’s background spans recording artists, Broadway, and contemporary commercial performance; Zach’s interdisciplinary path integrates somatic practice, stage performance, and music production.Their collaboration centers on applied, responsive voice work — supporting singers in developing coordinated, expressive performance grounded in sustainable function in a focused, welcoming environment.

"Doug Peck changed my relationship with my voice. In our short time together I learned how to communicate through song. I learned to trust my sound, and to make friends with it. And to stay in gratitude that l have one! His patience, kindness, sense of humor, grace and faith buoyed my confidence as an actor who sings. I couldn't adore him more. It is no wonder that some of the greatest voices today trust Doug with their voices, and the deep dive he fosters to connect to the deepest part of oneself through song."-Kathryn Hahn
"I’ve worked with many vocal coaches, but Zach is the first who has been able to show me how to confidently acheive the sound I want. He’s able to create a calm and supportive environment that makes it easy and comfortable to learn, and his somatically informed approach has helped me actually internalize the techniques and understand my voice (and body!). All in all, a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Zach to anybody who has bounced off of rigid or confusing vocal instruction in the past."-Alden Groves (Evoke)
"Doug is the most perceptive and intuitive voice teacher I've ever worked with. Instead of running through a pre-baked set of vocal exercises, he listens closely, pays attention, and responds to whatever is happening moment to moment with just the right insight or solution. He points out subtle things happening in my body and my voice that I would never have noticed myself. And even though he works with the biggest pop stars, Broadway legends, and opera divas, a lesson with him always makes me feel like there is nothing in the world more important to him than my personal joy and success as a singer. Working with him has helped me dissolve hurdles and unlock doors that have stymied me for years, whether we're focusing on something I'll sing with a symphony orchestra or in a solo show accompanied only by a piano. Our lessons together have helped me build a suite of skills and tools together that have made singing easier and more fun. "-Ari Shapiro
"Zach is an exceptional teacher and an even better human. His somatic, body-first approach has completely changed the way I experience my voice, and he intuitively adapts each session to meet me where I am. I’ve made more progress in one year with him than I did in three years of classical training."-Valentina Truong-Ferreira
